We are excited to announce that for the first time HCLSoftware has been named a leader in this year’s Application Security testing report. You can download your copy of the report here.

Starting in 2020, Gartner recognized and validated the work being done by HCLSoftware in helping organizations move towards Secure DevOps. HCLSoftware makes it easier to incorporate security testing into development and operations practices without sacrificing testing quality, depth or coverage. These improvements in AppScan resulted in HCLSoftware moving into the “Visionaries” section of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant.

Now in 2021, AppScan has entered the Leaders section via HCLSoftware. Gartner defines leaders as those in the market that demonstrate “breadth and depth of AST products and services” as well as a “vision through a clear, well-articulated path to supporting the growing needs of modern developers”.  In short, AppScan is clearly able to support organizations that have application security testing needs and are implementing Secure DevOps.

HCL AppScan offers Static (SAST), Dynamic (DAST), and Interactive (IAST) testing, as well as Software Composition Analysis (SCA). These are offered in both on-premise and SaaS models with flexible licensing models to fit different sizing and budget requirements. HCL AppScan also has a free extension for Visual Studio and GitHub called CodeSweep to provide SAST functionality.
